It's always been easy enough for me to ignore my New Year's resolutions because I don't write them down. I am changing all that with the new decade. They say if you make things too complicated or over-reaching, you're doomed to fail,so inn the name of simplicity and success, here we go:
1. Ten minutes of yoga every day
2. Finish my cookbook
3. Write a personal essay every month
4. Work normal hours for RFS, not 24/7
5. One painting a month
Obviously this is all about reclaiming my bliss and achieving work/life balance.
Lets DO IT!

I like his attitude
"It's a lifebrightener, sure. The hottest stuff ever was. It's the whole pie with jam in. It's just the cutest snappiest line out. It is immense, supersumptuous. It restores." James Joyce, Ulysses

Care and Feeding of your imagination
Today, I'm exploring the culinary traditions of the old Silk Road for my kids cookbook: Eat It! Food Adventures. Wandering through the markets of Persia, heady fragrances of rose water, almonds, cinnamon, saffron and mint fill the air. Close your eyes and come with me. What shall we make of it?

13th Anniversary . . . but whose counting?
Was it yesterday,
Or several lifetimes ago,
That our paths first crossed?

Other Spring Thoughts in Vermont
24 May,
Ottaquechee dusk:
Hard on Mom's tail upriver
ducklings paddle fast.
25 May,
Morning-
Crabapple blossoms
drift to the ground with each breeze,
like a May snow storm.
Evening-
The sun is dropping
along with temperature
Late cold snap coming.
Nightfall-
Warning, freeze alert.
All danger has not passed.
Protect tender plants.

"Air Force One on the line." Thursday, May 28 at 1:00 est
Wow! Just got off the phone with the President. OK, it was a conference call, so there may have been others. But I love that man!
Vermont #4 Thursday May 28--More of the Same
Rain, rain, go away.
Come again another day.
I want garden play.
Catching up. Vermont #3 on Wednesday, May 27
Good time for catch up.
Downward dog and conference calls.
On this rainy day.
